To know Benjamin Ignacio Ruezga was to know that life was meant to be lived at full volume, usually with a smirk on his face, when you walked into a room and felt the energy shift, if the laughter was a little louder and the atmosphere a little more electric, you didn’t even have to look—you knew Benjamin had arrived. Benjamin was a man of fierce loyalties and even fiercer humor. He wore his passions like armor, and nowhere was that more evident than during the "Battle of the Bay." That household was a high-stakes arena, a gridiron battlefield where allegiances were drawn in silver and black. As a die-hard Raiders fan along with his dad, Benjamin held the line against his brother, the 49ers faithful. You could practically hear the trash talk echoing off the walls, a symphony of rivalry that defined their bond. It was great. Benjamiin was a “Celtics fan as well and would rock his raiders and Celtics dress code half and half. He didn’t just support his teams; he made a spectacle of it. He was the kind of guy who didn’t care if you were annoyed by his jokes or doubled over in laughter; he just wanted to make sure you were feeling something. He owned his "Class Clown" title from high school with a pride that never faded, carrying that mischievous spirit into adulthood like a badge of honor. He knew that the most important thing you could share with someone wasn't a profound lecture, but a moment that forced them to crack a smile. And if you look at the photos—the ones that capture the essence of the man—you’ll see the constant. Regardless of the day, the struggle, or the score of the game, Benjamin was always smiling. It was a grin that said he was in on the joke, that he knew something the rest of us were still catching up to. Yet, for all his loud antics and comedic timing, Benjamin had a soft, immovable center. His two sons were his pride and joy, the heartbeat of his world. Everything he did, every joke he cracked, and every game he cheered for, he did with their future and their happiness in mind. They were his greatest legacy, the ones who inherited his spark. Benjamin was the loudest person in the room because he was full of life, and he wasn't about to let a single second of it go to waste. He lived unapologetically, loved fiercely, and left us with a lifetime of stories that will keep us laughing for years to come. Rest easy, Benjamin—the stadium, and our hearts, are a little quieter without you.
