**Obituary for Edward Chavez**

Edward Chavez, beloved son of Leonard & Carmen Castro, and Edward Chavez Sr., was born on December 26, 1971. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 7, 2024. Edward is survived by his son, Raymond Bos-Chavez, and his siblings Denise Chavez, Rachel Lopez, Desiree Chavez, Daniel Felix, Mario Chavez, and Angelo Chavez. He is also remembered fondly by his cousin Sean Segura, who shared a brotherly bond with him.

As a great uncle to Zoei Lopez and an uncle and godfather to Dominique, Maddison, and Sarah Perez, Eddie touched the lives of many as a cousin, nephew, brother, godfather, grandson, and friend. He worked diligently as a freight loader for some time, but his life changed due to an injury on the job.

Eddie was never shy to express his thoughts, often sharing his opinions candidly, and he had a great sense of humor about it all. Well known for his strong spirit and short-fuse temper, he was also appreciated for his generous spirit and willingness to help others. He was dedicated to serving his community, feeding the homeless every year during Christmas and Thanksgiving until he faced challenges with his eyesight.

Eddie was famous for his delicious menudo and his love of 7-Eleven pizza, which brought smiles to those with whom he loved to share it.

A passionate fan of music and a devoted supporter of his favorite football team, the Raiders, Eddie had a zest for life that was infectious. He loved biking and spending time with his family, even during the times he may not have shown it. His vibrant personality and loud laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Eddie has reunite with his mom in eternity now. Upon seeing him we all could imagine her surprise, "Aww damn, Eddie what are you doing here?" Sadly they will both be missed. Those of us left behind will find comfort in knowing that he is at peace. He brought joy to many, and though he may have driven some of us to exasperation at times, the love and laughter he shared will always be fondly remembered.

Rest in peace, Eddie;

you will forever be in our hearts.

A memorial service to honor Edward Chavez will be held on August 27th, from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Chapel of Flowers in San Jose. The family encourages all attendees to wear their Raiders gear in celebration of his unwavering support for his favorite team.
